The Customer

Ampcontrol: Leading the Future of Stand-Alone Power Systems

Ampcontrol is at the forefront of off-grid energy innovation, engineering scalable, sustainable Stand-Alone Power Systems (SAPS) for remote communities and critical sites. These units replace aging grid infrastructure with clean, self-sufficient power solutions using solar PV, batteries, and intelligent energy management.

Working alongside utilities such as Western Power and key technology partners, Ampcontrol deploys SAPS across Western Australia—delivering safe, reliable electricity to areas previously reliant on costly and failure-prone poles-and-wires systems. For transformer supply, they rely on SES.

The Challenge

Off-Grid Systems Need Durable, Noise-Free Voltage Conversion

Each SAPS unit required a transformer that could:

  • Step up 240V to 480V for low-loss transmission
  • Operate reliably in isolated, harsh environments
  • Provide clean, stable output to household and industrial appliances
  • Seamlessly integrate with solar, battery storage, and inverter systems
  • Meet strict safety and performance standards for utility-grade deployment

A custom solution was needed—one built specifically for SAPS.

The Solution
